Tech-savvy Accountants Wanted
Accounting professionals have always been called bean counters behind their backs by co-workers. Well, those days are over as accountants hired these days should have more than the technical side of Accountancy in between their heads but also some technology know how as well.
Here’s what someone from Accounting powerhouse, PricewaterhouseCoopers, commented on regarding hiring accountants:
“We’re really looking for people who have the brainpower and willingness to learn,” says Paula Jones, a campus recruiter for PwC. Still, a handle on spreadsheets and the usual Web skills remains important. “People are letting us know more and more that they are Web-savvy,” Jones says.
So if you want an edge over the other applicants for this position, you had better learn a lot about the internet and other Office applications.
