Employee motivation is not at all, a new idea. It has been around for so long. But research and awareness have given rise to new aspects of employee motivation.
It was not uncommon to offer some system of rewards and privileges as a means of employee motivation. However, this privilege may actually alienate other workers who may not be as capable as the others. Others led to believe that this was actually counterproductive to employee motivation. New ways of motivation have sprung up. Companies group employees in”work teams”. This way the success of every endeavor or project the team takes will collectively be credited to all of them.
